Have you ever wanted to ask God, “What’s the Purpose of this Life?” Most of us have! It’s the most famed question written upon our existence! It is quoted in movies and stories, and written upon our hearts, it even falls from our lips in prayer and seeking when we are in the midst of a struggle we don’t understand! Well guess what the good Lord said to me this morning….
“It’s about becoming the REAL YOU… The One who He has saved! The one that the Lord looks at with much pleasure”
The Good Lord has a super purpose for our lives! Each part of what is going on in your life right now has something to do with the “REAL” Character you truly are! Becoming the Soul that is ALREADY SEATED at the Right Hand of God! Becoming the Saint that you are! Becoming the one who has been completely and thoroughly saved by the Holy Work of Jesus Christ! He is CHANGING YOU through ALL of these struggles!
WHOA! DID I SAY COMPLETELY AND THOROUGHLY SAVED! YES! You are ALREADY A SAINT Because YOU ARE SAVED by BELIEF in Jesus Christ! But then why is there still a struggle? Why is there still a problem? We are still struggling in our everyday lives… Why does it seem so hard?
This Life gets real tough doesn’t it? So many things that we have to worry about here on Earth. Finances, Our Sons and Daughters, Our Relationships, Our Homes, Jobs, Chores, Businesses…. It can get quite overwhelming if our eyes become fixed on them! If we spend our days worshipping our problems and not the God who has redeemed us from ALL sin and nature of this world! Hey reader! You probably just said to me, “Worshipping our problems?! I don’t worship my problems! I worship God!”
Well then, I ask you Saint, do you worship your problems or worship God who has all things under control?
Understand the word worship: to show reverence and adoration for (a deity); honor with religious rites. “the Maya built jungle pyramids to worship their gods” synonyms: revere, reverence, venerate, pay homage to, honor, adore, praise, pray to, glorify, exalt, extol
Take a look at the synonyms of this definition…. Do you “revere” your home as being something you have accomplished? What about the car you drive? Do you take pride in your sons and daughters grades or accomplishments? Did you not give them to God when you became a true believer? What pride is in it for you then? Do you praise the company you work for? Or, pay homage to your country? How do you Pray? Do you “pray to” your bills being paid, “adoring” the constant NEED for God to save you tomorrow? Or do your words speak a different language when you pray upon your debt, finances, or job? Should not your words be of Glory to God for that which is unseen, but through FAITH you speak that the bills will be paid when God Sees Fit to Pay Them and then act with PATIENCE knowing that God will do what you cannot at the right time?
5:6-8; Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by FAITH, not by SIGHT. We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
As we wander on this earthly domain, we are consistently challenged to keep our eyes on Jesus. To focus our energies on the FINSHED WORK OF CHRIST. To walk in FAITH and ACT with PATIENCE! F.B Meyer so accurately stated in his commentaries of this scripture, Paul was saying to the Corinths, to the REAL struggle of man in His Flesh,
“This mortal life is a pilgrimage, and our body is a tent, so slight, so transitory, so easily taken down; but what does it matter, since there is awaiting us a mansion prepared by God? Often in this veil of flesh we groan. It cages us, anchors us down to earth, hampers us with its needs, obstructs our vision, and becomes the medium of temptation. How good it would be if our physical body could be suddenly transmuted into the glorified ethereal body which should be like the resurrection body of our Lord!”
Wouldn’t it be great if we could just simply and physically die? How many of us have wanted to commit suicide in our weakest moments? How many of us have screamed out to God, “Just take me home!” How many of us have just wanted to give up and stop trying? That would be easier right? We know that we are saved and that we are going to heaven, so why is so important that we walk this life as mere mortals? Read 2 Corinthians 6; Where Paul speaks of where the Heart is while we go through the turmoils of this world. He talks about how we are to be vigilant with FAITH AND PATIENCE through all things. With COURAGE we REJOICE that we are scathed of these things. We can sit with our Heads held high in the FINISHED work that Christ has done in us.
The walk on earth as believers is simply about the CHANGE. It is your time in the WOMB of GOD! You were born a caterpillar and will RISE to be a Butterfly! It is the time for Fellowship and Learning. The time that Great Hope is instilled on our hearts! The time when we have to struggle so that we can see the mighty power of God work in our lives! Witnessing Miracles will CHANGE your MINDSET so that You can TRULY TESTIFY the Great God you serve! Eventually You will Be WITHOUT DOUBT! If one never goes without, how can one give to one who is without? How would you ever symphathize with the unbeliever? How could you ever TRULY MANIFEST THE GRACE OF GOD!?
You see, your salvation comes from your walk! You are being transformed! Changed! Re-arranged! To be a Glorying to God! So that your heart reflects God! Your words (or language) reflects God! So that you can truly MANIFEST JESUS’ LOVE FOR THE WORLD! We as believers find it easy to say, “God loves you!” But do we truly encourage one another in TRUE FAITH and PATIENCE? When you pray for your brother or sister who is struggling, do not ask the Lord to fix their situation for their PHYSICAL Comfort! But ask the heavenly Father to CHANGE their HEARTS, to OPEN their EYES, so as they TRUST that GOD HAS A PLAN! Whoa! What a different way of thinking huh?
When we look at Jesus while He is speaking in Jerusalem to the masses and the scribes and the priests; He says in
Mark 11: 22-24;
And Jesus, answering, said to them, “Have God’s faith. Truly I say to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and be put into the sea; and has no doubt in his heart, but has faith that what he says will come about, he will have his desire. For this reason I say to you, Whatever you make a request for in prayer, have faith that it has been given to you, and you will have it.”
He said have “God’s Faith”! Believer!!! Your FAITH IS GOD’s FAITH! Faith isn’t even OF YOU! So, where can you doubt? Where can you call on God to do something in your life that He has not ALREADY DONE! The WORK is FINISHED! You are to REST in that! Pray to God “The bills are paid! Justice is served! I am RIGHTEOUS in the SIGHT OF THE LORD!” Just like a Butterfly! Who sits in his cocoon, you don’t see the caterpillar struggle to become a butterfly! He RESTS in his cocoon and then one day, He’s a Butterfly! He didn’t pray that one day he would be a butterfly. He just BELIEVED that he was ALREADY a Butterfly and RESTED while His NATURAL STATE was CHANGED, MORPHED, MADE NEW! He is given wings to fly AFTER REST; Just as you will be!
7: 9-11; I now rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye were made sorry unto repentance; for ye were made sorry after a godly sort, that ye might suffer loss by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, a repentance which bringeth no regret: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold, this selfsame thing, that ye were made sorry after a godly sory, what earnest care it wrought in you, yea what clearing of yourselves, yea what indignation, yea what fear, yea what longing, yea what zeal, yea what avenging! In everything we approved yourselves to be pure in the matter.
Your salvation does not come from “regretful sorrow“, but the SORROW OF a GODLY SORT! The Magnificent CHANGE you see when you can truly ACCEPT God’s GRACE for you! The FORGIVENESS He bestowed as a GIFT! The Gift of WINGS from REST! WOW! Amazing! Believe it or Not! You ALREADY POSSESS WINGS! The Caterpillar can’t be a butterfly unless his DNA, (or nature) already possessed butterfly attributes! You see? YOU ARE ALREADY A SAINT! When you became a BELIEVER in CHRIST’s WORK ON THE CROSS – God CHANGED YOUR DNA! The scriptures say, YOU ARE REBORN! You were REBORN as a SAINT! So, why do we not pray like a saint?
Are you celebrating your salvation by the sorrow created of this world? With Regret? With Shame? With ADAM’S SORROW? If you are, then you are still celebrating DEATH! As a Saint, YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SANCTIMONIOUS RIGHT TO CELEBRATE LIFE!
Was Paul telling the Corinths that they were in need of constant doubt? Was he telling them to KEEP REPENTING? Was he instructing them to consistently ask the Lord to fix what they had messed up in their lives? NO! He was sharing the JOY OF THE LORD! He was telling them to REJOICE in the FINISHED WORK! Oh Believers! When you pray to our Lord Jesus Christ, to Our Heavenly Father who is King of Kings, and Lord of Lords! Speak to Him that which He HAS DONE! Rejoice in the FINISHED WORK! Pray for one another that God’s Faith be ever so prevelant in us that it outshines Doubt, Frustrations, and Worry! Speak the language of God in that ALL THINGS God will bring GOOD. And stand in the righteousness that He has instilled in your DNA! Allow the Change to come forth! Speak of yourselves as Saints and Act in accordance with the REST in the Lord! Be the Caterpillar who ALREADY KNOWS He is a Butterfly! Do not doubt that God OWNS your destiny! And you will RISE Up and FLY!
